Freshfields prides itself on providing nutritious meals for residents which is all home cooked by our experienced chef and her team.
Food choices
Residents are involved in food and drink decisions. New residents are assessed and their likes and dislikes with food and drink documented in their care plan. Our experienced chef has meetings with residents to get feedback on the food provided and will alter menus accordingly. There is always an alternative dish on the menu. During the hot weather, we constantly promote hydration. Residents have access to snacks and drinks throughout the day.
Nutritional requirements
Where residents have specific nutritional needs such as a diabetic diet or they require high calorie food to improve their nutritional intake, this is provided. Relevant professionals are also involved to ensure the resident has optimum nutrition.
Theme days
we celebrate many theme days, which always include appropriate food and drink for the occasion. Examples of these are Chinese New Year, Valentine’s Day, St Patrick’s Day, Easter, St George’s Day, Halloween and of course Christmas.
