Philosophy of care

Our mission is to provide a good standard of care in well kept facilities. To respect residents dignity, privacy and to treat and see people as individuals.

We believe our residents should be able to take risks, whilst remaining safe in our homely environment. Residents are encouraged to participate in our full activities programme where we have interests to suit most needs. We believe life in a care home should still be rewarding, enjoyable, sociable and interesting.

We have funded outings during the year to different places of interest. Strong links with groups in the local community exist and are maintained.

We believe in change and that there is always ways of improving our service. We regularly ask for peoples’ views and suggestions and we take forward ideas and action where possible. The owners, management and staff ensure that what happens in the home is driven by the needs, abilities and aspirations of the residents and not by what management and staff group desire.

Each resident has a detailed care plan reflecting their individual care and social needs. Good standards mean you benefit from individualised care that is provided in a friendly and respectful manner.

Access is arranged for outside healthcare professionals to visit the home. Visitors to the home are welcomed at anytime. Freshfields enjoys excellent support from the local doctors’ surgery and community nurses who provide the same medical services that our residents would receive in their own home.
